Companies are looking for ways to not only create convenient coworking spaces, but also provide members with additional amenities and services that cater to their interests, offering art exhibits, full-service restaurants, fitness studios, wellness programs and more

As today’s workforce continues to evolve, shifting from full-time employees in a traditional office setting to increasing numbers of remote and freelance workers, a spate of new membership-based co-working spaces is being developed and encouraged by retailers, extending their brands to accommodate customers even in their professional pursuits.

The following inspiring co-working spaces are stepping in to solve for traditional office settings’ need for change, transforming the workplace environment into social spaces that foster dynamic and inclusive communities, and providing members with extended services like events, retreats, exhibits, restaurants and more.

The Wing
The Wing is a New York City-based collaborative networking space designed for women. It offers members more than just beautifully designed workspaces, as all of the amenities are mindfully built around the daily needs of a woman. The club offers showers, beauty rooms, cafe, bar, perks and freebies and lactation rooms for working mothers. It also hosts events with notable female speakers, such as former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. The Wing recently opened a hub in Washington, D.C. and plans to open six more locations across the U.S. It also unveiled a proprietary social networking app that lets its members stay connected.

The Riveter
The mission of The Riveters, a Seattle-based community space, is to define the future of work for women. The club offers customizable memberships to meet every customer’s individual needs. Aside from the beautiful workspaces, the facility features tranquil meditation rooms, a mother’s room, outdoor spaces and lounges. It also hosts educational and cultural events and wellness programs. It welcomes all genders and plans to introduce ten more facilities throughout the US.

The Yard
The Yard is a Brooklyn-based hub with 14 locations all across the US. The community is a warm, driven group of entrepreneurs who foster each other’s growth. Each space is designed around the modern worker with a contemporary, classic aesthetic while being mindful of the neighborhood feel. Unique to the Yard is its art program, which exhibits a constant rotation of artwork from local artists.

The Assemblage
The Assemblage is a  premium co-working, co-living and community space in New York City with luxurious amenities designed to promote personal and professional growth. In addition to desks and private offices, The Assemblage offers 79 extended-stay co-living spaces equipped with a full kitchen, plus a tea room and yoga studio. It also offers nightly programming and events, nature retreats and impact travel.

A/D/O
MINI Cooper’s new business initiative, Amalgamated Drawing Office, is a workspace located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, designed to encourage creative collaboration. The facility provides members with 23,000 square feet of design space. Aside from the classic workspace amenities, A/D/O also has a shop with a unique assortment of iconic design classics, a restaurant serving healthy seasonal plates, exhibition space and even a design studio equipped with large-scale fabrication equipment.

Rise By We
WeWork has been at the forefront of the co-working movement, transforming offices into experiences that foster creativity and connection through a multitude of amenities. Now with 453 locations worldwide, WeWork introduced Rise By We, a wellness club in New York with a social approach to fitness and numerous amenities from personal training and meditation to a full service spa and café.
