First Spaces in Ohio opening soon in OTR: SLIDESHOW – Cincinnati Business Courier

Spaces, a coworking space company that is part of International Working Group plc, is preparing to open its first Ohio location in Over-the-Rhine.

The company signed a 12-year lease for about 41,000 square feet of space in Cincinnati Center City Development Corp.’s 15th & Vine development. Jim Stapleton, area manager for Regus and Spaces, said the difference between Regus and Spaces is that Spaces is more focused on collaborative areas.

“We want to give people different ways to work,” Stapleton told me.

Spaces has four floors of the building available for customers. The top floor of the space is currently being left open for one tenant to take the entire space. That tenant would have access to a private balcony on the top of the building.

The rest of the tenants in the building will have access to a common rooftop balcony, which wraps around the corner of the building from 15th Street to Vine Street.

The second floor of the building will have a reception area that is staffed by Spaces. The staff will greet guests, sign for packages and can perform other tasks for tenants.

A business cafe also will be located on this floor, where tenants will be able get coffee, espresso, sandwiches and other food.

Spaces provides a variety of options, from having a dedicated office space, starting at $649 per month, to membership to the coworking space starting at $119 per month, to a dedicated desk starting at $439 per month. Everything is included in the monthly price, including furniture and access to high-speed internet. The terms are flexible, ranging from month-to-month to up to two-year agreements.

The coworking areas in Spaces will be on the second floor, with a variety of different settings and seating arrangements. Spaces coworking members will be able to access the coworking space as well as reserve meeting rooms and use “phone booths” for private conversations.

Other amenities at Spaces include wellness rooms where mothers can nurse or pump, showers in the men’s and women’s bathrooms, and a game area with table tennis, foosball and video games.

Stapleton is taking people on tours of the space now. He said there has already been a lot of interest in Spaces, with one agreement signed and others in the works.

While this will be Spaces’ first location in Greater Cincinnati, IWG’s Regus has three locations in the region, including space at PNC Center at 201 E. Fifth St., Towers of Kenwood at 8044 Montgomery Road and Summit Woods at 300 E Business Way.

Spaces in Over-the-Rhine will officially open on Jan. 28, 2019.
